This build just does a lot of damage. Doesn't really do anything more than that. Do you like a lot of damage? Then you'll like this build. Message to GGG from everyone playing this build, all two of us. Please, give us an option to turn Autotargeting off. Thanks in advance. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Pros and Cons Pros - One of the highest single-target damages in the game, maybe only second to Vaal Righteous Fire. - Can run EVERY map-mod. Some mods do impact the build, but not in a crippling manner. - Can do Shaper and Uber-atziri consistently - Does really well in breaches, which is neat in Breach-league. Cons - Very clunky for clearing do to autotargeting. PLEASE GGG, I BEG OF YOU. GIVE US OPTION TO TURN IT OFF. - Looks like AIDS, especially if you're using the MTX. - Clear-speed is not great. It's alright though. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mechanics: Why does this build do a lot of damage? It's simple. We double-dip. A lot. I won't run the numbers or anything, I'll just briefly explain what doubledips, and why. First off, Chaos-damage and Area-damage double-dips on the initial hit, and the poison applied. Duration Quadruple-dips by scaling: 1. The duration of firestorm 2. The duration of the poison 3 and 4. The duration of Wither, which scales both the intial hit, and the poison-duration. The definition of "dipping" seems to be vague and ambigious, so let's not get into that now. All that matters is that this is a lot of dipping. Yeah, that was a lot less interesting than you expected, huh? That's this build in a nutshell. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Budget Playable on a budget of a couple exalts. And it gets a lot better with every exalt invested. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gear Wanna just build it really cheaply? Alright. Get 2 consuming darks, a 5L infernal mantle, an elreon ring, and just standard ES gear everywhere else. Aim for getting a 6L as soon as possible, as that is the biggest upgrade you can do by a mile. Got a shitton of currency and just wanna go all out? That's cool as well. Get 2 consuming darks, a 6L infernal Mantle OR Vaal Regalia, A pair of skyforths, and get chaos-damage on all of yuor jewelry. Skyforth's doesn't really provide anything else than saving 1 skill-point, and giving more consistent Power-charge generation, so it's only worth getting if you easily got the currency to afford it. As for getting a leech-source, get enchanted boots from the labyrinth with Leech. As for when you really need mad leech, get one or two Atziri's Promises. Socket the following gems: - Wither 3/20* - Cast while Channeling 21/20** - Firestorm 21/20 - Increased Duration 21/20 - Void Manipulation 21/20 - Concentrated Effect 21/20 or Added Chaos 21/20*** * "X/X" means "level"/"quality" ** The level and quality is simply the optimal level and quality. No need to actually use these exact numbers. *** Use Concentrated Effect for single-target, and Added Chaos for clearing. If you're not wearing Skyforth's, use this 4L setup: - Orb of Storms 1/0 - Increased area of Effect 21/20 - Increased Critical strikes 21/20 - Power Charge on Critical This setup is useful for whenever you need to gain charges really fast, or if the Power-charge generation from assassin proves insufficient while clearing. As for Auras, here another important 4L - Discipline 21/20 - Temporal Chains 20/23 - Blasphemy 20/23 - Enlighten level 3 or higher And here's the links for Vaal Gems. Feel free to modify these at will. - Vaal Discipline 20/20 - Vaal Lightning Trap 20/20 - Increased Duration 21/20 __________________________________________________________________________________________________ FAQ Why not go Berserker? Assassin gives the benefit of going CI, is more relevantly placed on the tree, and gives about the same damage from the ascendancy itself. It also allows us to go crit for even more damage. Easy choice, really. Berserker is a noobtrap anyways. Why not go Occultist? It gives us less damage. However, I would say it would be an excellent choice if you want a more well-rounded character, as Occultist provides better defences, less tree-investment, better clearing, but a lot less damage. Why Cast while Channeling? Because Firestorm has a really slow cast-speed, and supporting it with cast while channeling allows us to benefit from wither, which is also scaled by duration, as well as making it so we don't have to even think about cast-speed for the build, which is just a very inefficient way of scaling the damage.
