My ISP is fine, and I can run Witcher 3 on high/ultra smoothly.
But PoE on lowest is still laggy/choppy.
Wonder why.
Crappy engine, maybe?

Very, very lopsided engine, actually. It extremely heavily favors Intel+Nvidia systems as far as I can tell, especially when it comes to optimization. If you have anything AMD/ATI, you can usually expect any optimization to actually make it slower on your machine in my experience, especially if it isn't AMD/ATI bought within the past 6 months. OTOH, if you have a very recent Intel+Nvidia machine with at least dual core and the current midlevel or highlevel graphics card, you can expect a comparatively smooth ride with occasional performance improvements, since that appears to be what GGG runs on in-house. I would be very, very surprised if you're running a rig like that and still getting bad performance (and interested in your exact CPU and GPU if so.)

It's a big problem if you're not obsessive about upgrading your gaming rig, or god forbid want to play PoE from multiple locations/on business machines. Which is the primary reason I haven't bought any supporter packs; I can't rely on the game remaining playable on the hardware I want to run it on, and Alex's work seems to be hurting rather than helping.
People who don't like the Labyrinth are not a minority: Be heard - say you don't like it in your signature. Don't leave complaining about lab to others - GGG needs to see how many people dislike it. Ascendancy must be gated on true ARPG content, not a poorly-crafted internet Legend of Zelda wannabe.
