Searing Bond Spell tag

Why isn't searing bond supported by controlled destruction?

Is it supported by any spell supports?

I believe the logic is similar to Spells like Summon (Minion) and Immortal Call. It's a Spell, but it doesn't do Spell Damage.

More specifically, in today's world, when you use the skill, it Places a Totem, and that Totem proceeds to cast a Spell which probably gives itself a buff and does nothing else (i.e. no spell damage dealt).

Despite Exception Modifiers that allow Spell bonuses to apply to Damage over Time, Damage over Time can never actually be Spell Damage due to the way the game has been coded.

No Spell-focused Supports can affect it that I can think of.

But thankfully you could replace Controlled Destruction with Elemental Focus if it isn't already in your link-up: SB deals Burning Damage, but doesn't Ignite!

wiki:

Fire damage dealt over time by the beams is considered burning damage, and therefore benefits from increased burning damage modifiers. The damage of the beams is also affected by increased fire, elemental, Vulnerability and totem damage passives, as well as damage over time modifiers. However increased spell damage modifiers do not.
It's free, quit complaining, and just play the game.
DoT is base damage type, mutually exclusive with the other ones, such as spell damage. spell damage never affects damage over time unless specifically stated so (chaos spells)
