Breach drops

The Breach openings are fun! But, three times I've seen something called a "Clasped hand" drop and it does not stay when the breach closes, and when I have picked it up while the breach is open, it is not in my inventory when I check later. What gives with that item?

It's not an item. It's like a chest that can only be opened in the breach.
