No Character Selection on login

I have been having an issue when I log in to the game I cannot see any character menu. I can see the background with the prison and 7 exiles, but I cannot see my characters.

Sometimes I get the character menu and I select a character then get disconnected. Even rarer I get through and get into the game, but it again crashes on me soon after.
