So how long has the item filter fps bug been around for?

The announcement said they discovered it in 2.5.0 testing but they didn't say when it was introduced. Does anyone know?

On Reddit Chris said that on some machines this cut fps in half, possibly more.

And for the noobs that just cannot simply answer the question.............

It is not a bug (as such), but the Loot filter was updated EVER FRAME, not just when an item dropped.

It caused MASSIVE fps slowdowns for those people on potato's.

I don't see the issue here. ;)

Moot at this point since it's been fixed and we will see the patch in less than 8 hours. My guess is the bug has been present since they introduced item filters to the game.

from my memory there wasn't the big outcry because of performance degradation when loot filters were released. unlikely they introduced it that early.

regarding whether it's a bug ... issues limiting performance aren't normally seen as bugs as the game's mechanics aren't affected by it.
