Just interesting detail.
The Shaper in his pursuit for perfection of everything acts like character of indie game made by France developers Maxine Caulfield. She was an evil and madness-empowered teenager who using ability to rollback time itself to reroll reality until it met some "perfect" state. Shaper trying to create "perfect" world but his "perfection" is corrupted. Signature ability of Maxine is creation of shadow shapes of reality with some sci-fi device, then she can use them to rollback reality. And the Shaper uses shapes of reality in his realm and used to revive greatest nightmares of the past (mini bosses). Even the look of characters are very similar to each other.
