4 years of development - progress or regress?

The game became more and more advanced: thanks god no more desync, super cool idea of sub-class ascendancy, masters and now we have atlas.

But, do you think POE move towards bright future???

Do you think all those ideas(immunities, volatile, lab restrictions, one shot bosses, outdated map mods, OP uniques, COC nerf) or balance issues(spells/attacks, ranged vs melee, ES/EVA/hubrid/life) make this game LESS FUN and instead of making new opportunities create more and more restrictions.

I'll leave you some good thoughts:

Played quite a while, came to the feedback forum to write a rant about how I hate uber lab, saw your post. Overall, I think PoE is a lot better game than it used to be. There's way more fun stuff to do, a lot more builds etc. On the other hand, a lot of the stuff they've added that they sold as really really cool I feel has either not added any fun or taken away from the fun overall. Obviously I put lab in that category, but there's a lot more other clutter in the game too. Some bosses have always been crap, but now there's more crap, and you're more required to push through that crap. Some builds have always been meta, but now it's even more meta-focused, and the content pushes you more to rely on that meta. GGG have always been half-assed about modifying/preparing the existing game to accommodate new changes, but now there's even more temporarily broken, buggy, or imba stuff with every patch. Like I said, game is getting better, but it's introducing about 60-80% good and 20-40% bad each wave, so in the end you have a better game with a lot more stupid crap in it as well.
I would love to play some of the earlier versions of PoE, to be honest, like 1.3 or something like that. Unfortunately that is not possible. I do not think PoE is going in a good direction if you ask me, with the who-oneshots-first mechanics that are currently en vogue.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
New features and content are nice but balance went down the drain.
Desync fixed (!)
Ascendancies added

Prophecy is interesting
Strongboxes are awesome
Masters are meh, so is atlas. But at least masters add stable crafting mechanics over total RNG

Balance still a complete disaster, moreso now than in beta
Oneshots and instagibs still rampant over regular, threatening but good mechanics

Overall, I'd call it a net gain for content improvement and desync, but the fundamental issues of balance and oneshots still plague POE and keep it from greatness.
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes

Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.
Yeah, that is probably a pretty solid analysis.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
Overall progress, imo. The passive tree allows for much more flexibility when it comes to interaction with gear (resistances, movement speed), and that is a good thing. The masters, same thing. You are much less dependent on good RNG and/or trading than in the early days.
AoW is a good addition, I believe, despite its downsides.

On the other hand it's hard to imagine PoE moving away from its current superfast/ranged/AoE/watch TV meta.
That reddit post is completely clueless.

Map mods are supposed to vary in difficulty for different builds.

If you don't like / can't handle a mod you can reroll the map.

Don't want to spend the currency? Trade it.

Don't like trading? Level multiple characters than can handle a variety of mods.

Only want to play one character forever and think all content should be easy for all builds and there should never be currency sinks? Poe isn't the game for you, sorry.

It is fine to want to play poe your way but asking for there to be no undesirable mods is asking poe not to be poe. You really don't get this game at all if you think that is a good idea.

why do i keep seeing these posts... ofcourse the game is moving forward, what are you saying!?
I usually do not read popular posts again after i made a comment on it, unless it's one of my own. I wish to have a Black robed Grim Reaper micro set in game one day, grant my wish, GGG
I really wish there was some beta version of the game available, so that people can see what they are actually talking about.

Makes me think you haven't played the previous versions, lol.
