Sword & Shield Ice Crash Advice Please

I'm coming back to POE after a while off. I've got my caster in maps now and I like to do a more expensive character as my second. Compared to most people posting here I probably qualify as a casual player: my goal might be to kill Atziri once or twice, but i don't care about Uber Atziri, for exampel, and I play softcore. With that in mind I like the idea of a sword & shield crit ice crash character.

The only similar build I could find was a Templar: [2.4] Inquisitor Ice Crash
Since you can't change classes and thus ascendancy, I was wondering if anyone had advice on a sword & shield Berserker with Aspect of Carnage & Pain Reaver. Or maybe a duelist-gladiator, but that seems less good.
