Crown of the gods is such a unique game there is literally nothing that compares to it. There was a game called lord of ultima it is based off of but that game was shutdown years ago. It was such an amazing game programmers across it's player base built a new version of it and now we have filled the massive void it left in our lives when we lost it.

plenty of "mmo-rts" browser games exist, also on mobile.

I feel Something akin to Age of Empires Online would have been perfect for an MMORTS the game was marred by blatant Pay to Win though.
