How Stacked Deck came to be

Hey, I like this story, can´t wait to see what you guys made :D

Also, stop hating on not getting the deets on the latest currency, you guys. This is just a person sharing their excitement and story, which I can appreciate. All will be revealed in time.

If you read my earlier post, you'd see that I like these threads (normally). In fact, I've liked EVERY other thread like this that I've come across.

Here's why theres negativity; every other thread I've seen has the following:

Past iterations of the item, with the author, if not listing every affix it had, listing the core thing that made it unique. This lets us imagine what could have been, and lets us know what the author/creator is interested in, as we get a bit of insight into his or her starting point.

A little bit of back story about their lives. The Cloak of Tawmr'Isley guy told us about how important LARP was to him, and how extravagant his campaigns were. He even included a picture.

The item spoiled at the end.

The OP in this case included none of that. This didn't need it's own thread - this could have been cut in half and posted in the comments of the GGG announcement. That's why I called it a waste of time. If you liked this 'story', I've got some paint you can pay me to watch dry -_-

Spoiler
And don't get it twisted, the negativity is directed at the thread and the content it lacks. Not towards OP the person, not towards the item, or anything like that. Support is what keeps the game going, and plenty of supporters both big and small have done actual shitty things. Big picture point of view: we're probably, what, days away from having the stuff in game?

A "stacked deck" is all about rearranging a deck of cards in a certain order, to get a WANTED OUTCOME. I think the name speaks for its self, and has something to do with Divination Card and known/wanted result.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Maybe you should reserve some of that negativity for i_no and solwitch trash threads.

I have large reserves of negativity. The internet will run out of porn before my reserves are exhausted.

Spoiler

Not that I would throw any at those two. One I happen to enjoy, and the other is much better off without any attention from anyone.

To get back to the topic at hand - the idea that you can't or shouldn't express a negative opinion about something because something else deserves it more is like saying we shouldn't raise money for Alzheimer's or cancer because heart disease is a bigger killer of people in America.

Well, the topic is titled "how stacked deck came to be" and the OP did write exactly that. I see no harm.
if this currency turns out to be any kind of good this Card will be another 0.01 drop thing .. i mean im glad that there are some guys out there spending that cash for these things but its just a shame that 90% of us will never see them drop and have to look them up on poetrade ..

'I sent ideas to GGG, they said no to all of them. I sent them another one. They said yes. I'm excited.'

You're saying it's accurate. It can be both accurate and a boring let-down simultaneously. If 'not harming anyone' is the threshold for holding a positive view of something, or for opposing someone else's negative view, that's a very low bar.

Yes, but you don't have to shit on another person's thread for that. The OP shared his story, how long it took, how he got the opportunity, how the art came to be, who he worked with etc. I'm sure it was very exciting for him and also for other people in here. If all you got out of the thread was

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
