The Secret Cookbook of a Bachelor Exile

That's how I make gravy. I use the residual fat in the pan after searing the meat, put some water and a little flour in it and cook it down until it thickens up, then dump it on the meat. I've used onion soup mix to make a gravy before and it came out pretty good.

Another spice rub I like to use sometimes is dried cilantro + black pepper + sea salt.

Sometimes I get pork tenderloin on sale, and I've used the cilantro + black pepper + sea salt rub, sear it on all sides, set it on a wire rack, then cook it in the over @ 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour. I've also bacon wrapped pork tenderloins. What I do is I'll sear the meat without the bacon on it, then wrap the raw bacon around the seared meat, then cook it. If I bacon wrap meats, I'll usually hold the salt, because the bacon has plenty of salt in it that will flavor the meat.

To add to that, as soon as you are done searing the meat, splash a little water (White wine, but since this is for bachelors...)

Depends where you live, in some parts of Europe diluting white wine with carbonated water is a popular summer alternative to beer, so a self-respecting bachelor will have some lying around. But yeah, it tends to be a rare commodity :)

Waterfront Bread Omelette

The next recipe in the mix is a simple and fast but a very tasty one, probabyl oen of the best omelette recipes out there and a popular sailor dish at the time of Eternal Empire. A hungry sailor returning to the port could find some of the things he missed for months in it - fresh veggies, eggs, and soft, delicious bread. Just the right thing do fill his stomach without overburdening it before hitting the red light district for some of that 'bottoms up' he actually missed the most.

Ingredients:
- A few slices of bread, enough to cover the pan (it can be stale, this is one of the best ways to use up the old bread)
- A small onion or half a big one
- A small tomato or half a big one (you can use canned tomatoes or puree when out of the season)
- Half a teaspoon of sweet paprika powder
- Half a teaspoon of sweet curry powder
- A bit of salt, pepper and chili (to taste)
- (optional)some fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 4-5 eggs

1. Slice the bread
and lightly toast it on both sides so it holds together better, you can do it in a toaster or in a pan before doing everything else

2. Peel the tomato and finely chop it
then do the same with the onion and add the rest of the ingredients, It is recommended to chop the tomato first and then mix the powdered spices with it so they dissolve in its juice, if you add them after the eggs it can be hard to avoid clumps, but it doesn't really matter if you don't mind.

3. Oil the pan and fry the mix on medium heat
until the liquid from the top starts to disappear, you can kick it around a bit with a spatula so it goes faster and doesn't burn.

4. Soak up the remaining juices with the toasted bread
then set it on the side and cook the mix a bit more.

5. Return the bread to the pan wet side up
and divide it around the bread portions so it's easier to turn over without making too much of a mess, you can try flipping everything at once but that's very risky depending on the number of bread pieces, if we had skills like that we'd be running our own cooking shows.

6. There, turned over and nobody got hurt
fry that side a bit more

7. And then serve

Fakener Mojito

And now we have the honor to present the favorite summer drink of all those that weren't really impressed with the firepower of Myolner so they went in search of something with a bit more kick to it. Such exiles value nothing like their time so they, contrary to their farming philosophy, prefer drinks with less kick, as nobody has the time for walking or using a bicycle. That is how we got this refreshing imitation of a popular cocktail but without a drop of alcohol in it.

Ingredients:
- A bit of fresh ginger
- One cucumber
- One lemon
- one lime

1. Finely grate the ginger
then wash the rest of the ingredients thoroughly and slice them as thin as you can, peel nothing but try to remove lemon seeds.

2. Add water
about 1,5 to 2 liters and leave overnight. In the morning strain the liquid and put it in the fridge. You may add sugar but it's better as is.

Ooozeback Pilaf

A famous Maraketh dish made from the meat of a legendary rhoa for some extra carrion flavor. Dipping the meat in vinegar, white wine, garlic and bay leaves is recommended to get rid of extra gaminess. A meal for all occasions, everyday, celebrations or outing, tasty despite the low quality meat, this is something to serve your mother in law with. It bears no similarity whatsoever to 'Uzbek pilaf'.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg of long grain rice or any kind of rice that doesn't stick much, this is important
- 1/2 kg of lamb, beef, pork or turkey
- 1/2 kg of carrots, cut in thin strips
- 2-3 onions, depending on size
- a handful of dried chickpeas or canned ones
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 2-3 pepper grains
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin grains
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons of sweet paprika powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of sweet curry powder
- (optional) half a handful of unsweetened raisins (may be hard to find)

1. Dip the chickpeas in warm water and leave overnight
or you will break your teeth on them. This step is skipped if you're using canned peas.

2. Wash the rice and set it aside to soak

3. Fry the meat chunks on hot oil

4. Cut the onions roughly in quarters
and add them in when the meat browns a bit

5. Add chickpeas, pepper grains and a bit of salt
keep on frying, adding a little water if juices from meat and onion aren't enough

6. Add water to cover everything
when the onion turns glassy and meat is half-cooked, let it simmer for a bit more

7. Add whole garlic cloves, cumin grains and half the paprika powder
let it simmer for a few more minutes

8. Add the carrots
so they form a layer above the meat, do not stir the stew anymore after this point, cover and leave it to cook for some ten minutes

9. Drain the rice and spread it over everything
carefully so the carrot layer is not disturbed.

10. Add the rest of paprika, cumin powder, curry powder and raisins
and stir it carefully into the rice layer, leaving the carrots alone

11. Add water
so it covers the rice with half a finger width to spare, let the liquid slowly boil on low heat

12. Carefully add some more water
when it is is gone from the surface and the rice starts expanding, you want it just above the rice this time

13. Cover up and let it steam for half an hour more
turning the stove down on lowest possible heat, don't lift the lid, don't touch anything

14. That's it
serve with fresh or pickled veggies, depending on season

All these recipes are awesome! Keep them coming :)
What will happen if you Vaal that dish? Will it taste like corruption? Will it turn back into water?

It isn't wine to turn back into water. Most of these are fairly easy to corrupt, just leave a few days at room temperature.

Next recipe will probably be tomayto-tomato hake stew with lemon, got a mind to make it these days.

Kira's Dere-Dere Rice Omelette

With most of the Highgate residents so friendly and polite, Kira definitely stands out as a distinctly sour character. She rarely has a kind word to say and you get the feeling she'd gladly use your good name as a spittoon, the way Greust does. However, if you do manage to get in with her you will realize she does have a soft side which she expresses through small gestures of devotion, like pouring your drink or making light snacks, as her martial training hasn't left her with much time to master many domestic skills. Though simple, this one is tastier than it looks, it's probably the tasty spell she casts on it while you aren't looking.

Ingredients:
- leftover fried rice, pilaf or any kind of rice dish
- ketchup
- 2 eggs

1. Give the rice a few stirs
on the pan to warm it up if it was in the fridge and add a bit of ketchup to it.

2. Beat up two eggs
and fry them in a pan, it's best to use a pancake pan if you got one, it's flatter, wider and with lower sides so flipping is easier. Don't use very high heat and turn it off once the eggs start to solidify, you ideally want the top part to remain uncooked so it soaks into the rice, it tastes better and it's easier to wrap.

3. Spread the rice
in an oval shape, if you use less rice it's easier to wrap and flip but you don't want to stay hungry either so use as much as you can manage. You will want to use two spatulas or a spatula and a fork to press both flaps over the rice until they stick, couldn't really show the process without an extra hand, or a tentacle. After you got the flaps under control, flip it carefully and shape it as close to the shape of an eye as you can by tucking the edges of flaps under, might not be possible if you put in too much filling but it doesn't really matter, it just looks nicer.

4. Write something heartwarming on it
good examples are 'I want you tonight' or 'vote Trump'
