Flame Totem and Cast Speed

How does Cast Speed affect Flame Totems? How fast they shoot the projectiles? I read/hear conflicting informations all over.

Cast Speed is Cast Speed, it can only have one function.
Totem Attack/Cast Speed is not displayed on the tooltip due to engine limitations. | |

flame totem is a spell and it has a cast speed that you can see on the gem. It will be affected by anything that increases cast speed.
you can also increase the range of the flame by getting projectile speed. | |
