Firefall Beta and Website Going Dark January 18th to Protest SOPA, Cancels E3 Plans

Firefall developer Red 5 has joined the opposition of the proposed Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect IP Act bills. In protest of the proposed bills, Red 5 will be taking the Firefall beta and website dark down on January 18th for a 24 hours.
Additionally, Red 5 boss Mark Kern told Shacknews that the studio was “ashamed of the ESA for supporting a bill which is clearly not in the best interests of gamers or the game industry,” Kern also confirmed in a follow up email that the Firefall developer has already cancelled its plans to appear at this year's E3 event, which is hosted by the ESA.
Red 5 will be observing its SOPA/PIPA protest blackout on the same day as Reddit.
