Mechanical Questions Thread

hello everyone!

i noticed the 3.0 shock mechanic change, and i was thinking about using it with the berek unique ring, to leech from shocked enemy. it worked great against monsters.

however, i found it impossible to leech from map bosses using this mechanic.

i checked Path_of_Exile_Wiki, it says "Increased damage from shock is capped at 50% at 10% of the target's maximum life dealt by Lightning damage, scaling down to 0% at no damage."

i wonder if i can shock the Shaper if i only deal 1 lightning damage per cast. In that case, the shock effect would be "0% increased damage taken", does that mean no shock effect at all?

Dark Pact deals entirely Spell Area Damage, this includes the Sacrifice-based Damage.

Flat Chaos Damage, such as the Added Chaos support, doesn't specifically apply to the Sacrifice-based Damage, it simply adds onto the base total.

Thank You for response.
Hello!
I noticed that Elementalist's skill "Liege of the Primordial" doesn't increase Effect of Buffs granted by my Stone Golem, however "Primordial Eminence" jewel do it. Is it bug? Maybe skill dosent increase Effect of Buffs granted by my Others Elemental Golem, but it's much harder to chek.
I will be grateful for the answer.

The game developers were a little tricky on this. If you read every line of Elementalist's skill carefully you will notice this:

"
100% increased Effect of Buffs granted by your Elemental Golems

(emphasis mine)

Physical isn't an element (nor is Chaos), so the passive explicitly says it won't affect your Stone Golem buff.

Chromatic and Fusing: what are the odds of getting various numbers of links, and on/off color sockets, on items? Is there any official documentation of what the math is anywhere?
Good afternoon.

I recently saw some Vaal Axes (2 hands) where they have a 240% modifier or Increased physical Damage, I thought I'd do the same for use, so I joined the path of exile gamepedia https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com / List_of_two-handed_axe_modifiers and realized that the maximum possible would be 170-179% (with an ilvl83).

I would like to know if there is a place that indicates how to make this modifier 240% +, or if there is no place that says how it is done, if you could explain how to get to this modifier value, because in gamepedia I could not find anything related To this.

Here's an example of an ax I'm talking about: http://prntscr.com/h3ls66

Thanks in advance.

hi there

i have 2 question

1. i play summoner with baron helmet, i use spectres also, they do spell damg, the iron will gem can support them? i say that because the baron helmet writes my strenght apply to minions, so the spectres have 1001 streght from me, also every 5 strenght= 1% melee damage, Now my spectres have 1001 strenght and 200% increase spell damage from iron will?
2. my fire resist is 140, if i got a hit from monster and if the monster have 30% penetrate fire resist. The 30% penatrate means i got more fire damage or my uper capped fire resist wont let the 30% work?
Ty and sry for my english

These axes have two affixes that grant Increased Physical Damage; the plain Increased Phys Damage modifier, and the hybrid %Phys Damage/+Accuracy modifier.

1. Yes.
2. Penetration applies after the cap is checked; overcapping does not help. Resistance Reduction, such as Curses and Elemental Equilibrium, apply before the cap is checked; overcapping does help.
From memory, only Atziri and the Death and Taxes Map boss have Penetration.
So this came up a day or two ago while thinking of some interactions for a cold damage ignite build:
How exactly do faster and dlower ignites work and interact with each other? Are the duration modifiers multiplicative or additive to each other?
I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

Not only that, but - is one simply a negative version of the other or do they use different formulas between "faster" and "slower"? That is, we know that Dyadian Dawn and TGScorned use Duration = Duration / (1 + x%). However, if we take "slower" to simply be a negative version of this, the new Emberwake causes a net loss in Ignite-DPS-with-100%-uptime-either-way just by being equipped, implying it might use a different formula like rate = rate / (1 + x%).

So does it use the same formula with negative number, or different formula?
