UI suggestion for setting max gem level - Right click gem anytime, drop down menu appears

Trigger gems are an integral part of POE. But, the process for setting the maximum level to which active skill gems will be leveled, so they can still be triggered by CWDT, for example, remains clunky. If you'd like clarity to be less than level 20, then the process for doing that is also clunky.

At present, to set the maximum level of a gem to less than 20, you need to wait until it levels up and then remember that the little icon representing that gem needs to be right-clicked. You need to research (or have memorized, which very few do) the level up to which CWDT will work, when deciding when to stop leveling a gem. If you left-click at the wrong time, then it costs a regret orb to recover from that error.

A simple solution would be to allow players to right click on a gem at any time and have a drop-down menu pop up. The drop down menu would have 2 to 4 columns in it. The first column would show the maximum level of the gem that is being chosen (ie: 1-20). The second column would show what stats and character level are needed to have the gem function, for each level chosen. The third column would be for active skill gems only and it would list the level of any trigger gems (ie: CWDT) that would trigger the selected active skill gem maximum level. The fourth column would show "special" information, such as the maximum level of minions that could be cast through desecrate, minion stats (base damage, hit points, resistances, ...), and other such information. Above the drop-down menu some of the peculiarities of the gem currently only given in the wiki could be provided.

Hopefully this helps to inspire more effort on the part of POE to make understanding gems and how to put them to use to be more easily apparent to players, as well as to find ways to cut down on the annoyance associated with accidental over-leveling of gems.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
