Oh yeah? I'll refund that contribution or I can get Charan to do it since I'm a dinosaur and I'll fucking eat him if he doesn't.

The more reports this guy gets the fucking better. HAZZAH

Not really blackmail than a service complaint. If something makes you quit, they lose future contributions from you.

I made the same statement for Phylacteral Link because that is a gameplay destroying mod, but I was glad they removed it.

I'm just making it a point as someone who contributed a lot towards this game and had a ton of faith in it.
this is how i read the OP's post. my thoughts follow each point, in brackets.

1) i spent big money on the game! (yeah? so?)
2) therefore, i am ENTITLED to BREAK IT'S RULES! (no. no, you're not.)
3) gimme what I WANT, or i won't give you any more of my $! (stamp your feet too: you'll get more attention)

dude/dudette, RELAX. it's just a game. if having a temporary "40" in a pale-blue colour next to your name is the most important thing in your life, then i envy you.

this isn't my game-playing account; just my forum-posting account :P

I think people who play the game, and even more for spenders, are entitled to game improvements.

And people are entitled to quit if they don't like what they play.

Dress it up anyway you want. I'm hardly innocent in the matter myself - - i threatened to withhold future support when a known botter and GGG staff abuser was invited to the Awakening closed beta - - but be honest with yourself. You're swinging a theoretical dick because it's just words. Just a threat. I get that you probably feel it's the best weapon at your disposal. Again, I've been there.

But this is ultimately a case of a rule that is in place because the vast majority of the time, it's a fair and just rule. GGG cannot and should not make exceptions. That sets precedent.

On top of being a case of financial blackmail, i think youre also being a little petty.

I'm actually a little surprised specialised global chats don't have community rules. Again, that's something for the players to figure out. Until they do, any global is considered public chat and subject to the same rules as global 1.

Well Charan, you had your slap to the wrist because it was against a person, which could be viewed as hostile even if he deserves it.
I'm against the game in both cases, where I want improvements to aspects of the game.

Time and time again, I see GGG implement features without knowing what to do to support it.

In this case, they implement a chat report features with zero moderation other than a hard rule of zero trade or "like trade" tolerance, and trolls run rampant reporting anyone they can just because it's their nature.

Challenges aren't new, and this and Talisman League expanded out to having a lot more Challenges, making Challenge Hunting a big aspect of the League. It should be expected that they support this (with my suggestion) rather than stopping people from having fun. It's not even hard to implement. Someone from GGG just needs to tell their mods that Global 820 is an exception.

Actually, Global 820 was made for Masters, now we have map rotations and challenges in the mix. GGG wanted this chat system to work, so they need to be able to support chat around these subjects, delegate, separate them in their own OFFICIAL channels rather than leaving it to the wild west.

As petty as it may seem, I've played the game for a long time, and the reason to keep playing just keeps getting thinner. This league, I was playing because of the Perandus Portal. If an arbitrary rule to exceptional case was going to stop me from getting it, I would have quit PoE before this league regardless of Ascendancy classes or whatever special feature. I love this game to death, but it's kinda pushing me away.

I report guys like you too. You have literally every other channel to do your shit in.

"But there's slightly more people there!" babyrage
"One does not simply Master in Global 820".

Says the person who doesn't actually look in the "other channel" before making statements like this.

Trade 820 is going at 4-5 messages a minute while Global 820 is like 4-5 messages a second.
Here's the way I see it.

Person complains about being banned for scamming, gets unbanned.
Person complains for being banned for cross league trading and demands refund, finds out isn't really banned but locked and it looks like threat of monetary backlash works.
Person complains of getting muted for trading in global and adds in monetary backlash that may or may not be true. Let's face it, packs have been out for a while, if you haven't bought the pack you intended to buy yet, it's not cause of someone muting you for trading in global.
We fight to delay the end because it's the means that matter.
Again, it is a rule that is there to prevent endless spamming of people selling/buying. The reason 820 is protected is because it was conceived for master *sharing* not yet another place to trade to win.

And another thing: trying to buy/leech a random challenge at some random moment in time is massively futile. The trick is you sit in 820 and wait patiently for someone to post the challenge you need and then jump on that. As a rule of thumb I ignore people I see asking for random challenges endlessly and I imagine so do a lot of other people.
