Marauder Newb - 1H + Shield (Help)

Hi,

I'm new to PoE and I love the game!

I just want some guidance on what build I should go for. I've been told life regen as well as Armour is important. I'm using a 1H Hammer with shield at the moment and mainly str gear. I'm using Quality Find gear to get better loot as well.

As for my build I have gone for Armour, HP Regen % and along the Life path and I'm heading towards the resistance section.

As for damage I am focusing on 1H Damage, attack speed, etc...

Any tips / ideas or a link to a complete build???

I'm willing to restart my character if needbe as I am level 18.
