Simple QOL improvement for slower PC users
A loading bar would be so sweet on the initial loading screen!
Instead of just: Loading... It takes my good ol' PC about 3min to start the game, so, its really frustrating to stare at a dark screen with no indication of the loading progress. Last bumped on Mar 31, 2016, 8:00:04 AM

" a loading bar is so 1900, lets show random animations of a decreasing health bar while in the background minor monsters are slowly poking a player char to death. although, i'm not doing the 19xx century justice as it had some quite good ideas of screens to show while the pc was locked or loading. one was even making a senior programmer hard reset my working pc because for him it obviously was stuck in a reboot cycle. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill! " Three minutes? I would consider that good fortune, if that were my case. From clicking Play on Steam to seeing the "Path of Exile" title screen, it takes me between seven to eight minutes. Every. Single. Time. I've timed it and everything :/ PoE's been kind of frustrating for me lately (DC-ing in the Labyrinth while trying to Ascend; ultra-lag in the Act IV final boss fights making it impossible to finish Merciless; etc.), so having to deal with that incredibly long initial wait is just another one of the reasons I debate playing something else instead. I mean, in the time it takes me to load the game, pick and load a character, then load the area I want to warp to, I could have already been in the middle of playing something else...' Edit: I would definitely appreciate some kind of loading bar or similar visual, though. It could be lying for all I care; tapping my fingers annoyed, staring at a blank screen until the game (finally) loads is not a great start point for an entertainment product :/ Last edited by linkblade91#1738 on Mar 31, 2016, 5:35:26 AM

" Try the non-steam client. It improved my performence and load time A LOT! OT: i like that at least the music starts playing before loading is almost finished.. |
