[2.1] Dodge-Stacking Shrapnel-Shot Ranger

Video Overview

We wanted to make a ranger using shrapnel-shot as it's main skill, and wanted to be able to run high-level content without shelling out for a coil/ToH. We stacked dodge instead, and it worked out better than we expected it to.

Skill Tree at 80 (Check Master_Juba from my characters for current tree)

Required Uniques



These two pieces provide a very large chunk of our defense. +1 Darkray vectors not necessarily required, but ideal.


Recommended Uniques



Drillneck may be best in slot, period, for this build. Lioneye's lets us not worry about accuracy, and does enough damage to clear T12s.

cwdt -> immortal call -> increased duration
enduring cry
hatred
blood rage
blasphemy -> poachers mark
blink arrow -> faster attacks
frenzy -> gmp

Our cwdt is level 10, we want it as high as we're comfortable with. The blood rage/blasphemy combo might be a bit of overkill, but it works. You could run a herald instead of the blasphemy setup if you're less lazy than I am.

To me Daresso is better than Hyrri, even if you lose 4% dodge.

You also lose the 10% spell dodge. Plus if you're running Acrobatics, which if you're following this build you probably will be, the you'll lose some of the armour darressos's provides too.
