The Cast on Death build

Of course this is a build that is only suited for a particular kind of player. It can be combined with all sorts of powerful skills, sweep being a particular favorite of mine.

The disadvantage more than anything is the time you spend running back to the place you last died, which makes movement speed boots like wanderlust and a quicksilver flask or three essential. When you get back several nice white items and even a magic item or two may have dropped from the insane procs from your cast on death.

Some players, especially those who rely on Cast on Death exclusively, may find it difficult to level in cruel and merciless. Of course there's a solution for that. Party up with some people who will undoubtedly find your Cast on Death procs OP, or failing that, at least amusing.

As you near endgame (and lets be honest, act 1 cruel may very well be endgame for this particular build) you reach your full potential. There's nothing quite like a Cast on death - Ice nova, shock nova, firestorm, concentrated effect and spell echo combined with cast on death, ethereal knives, Spectral Throw, Freezing pulse, greater multiple projectiles and faster projectiles.

For some two 6-linked items might seem a steep price, but it's well worth it.

The greatest thing about this build is that not a single passive skill point has to be invested into hp, armor, evasion or any kind of damage mitigation, put if all in spell and physical dmg. and the more life you reserve with blood magic auras the more effective it becomes.

I really look forward to seeing some of these builds in, well, normal difficulty.

People already exploited this skill to oblivion then it been just created. Mainly to kill annoying bosses. Try search forums.
Usually Cast On Death + Portal + Fire Spells (Burn DoT) and Pain attunement (Can be acquired with Crown of Thorns unique) for even more damage.
