Films You Would Brag to Watch with Someone (for How Awesome and Compelling They Are)

I'm taking notes.
More films:

Sunshine

Pi
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138704/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

The Thing

The call of Cthulhu
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478988/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Also, this is definitely *not* awesome and compelling, but I think to watch Star Wars Holiday Special is an achievement in itself. More if you watched it sober.

I love 2001: A Space Odyssey. I've tried to show it to a few people, and it's really hit n miss. If you get it, you love it. If you don't, it's understandably an agonizing experience.

The neverending story.

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

K-pax

Pan's labyrinth

The truman show

Haven't been mentioned so far. All excellent wastes of time that i would recommend to anybody.

Honestly, there's so much out there it's hard to pin-point "the best" selection.

Peace,

-Boem-

edit : honorary mention

"ghost in the shell"

Can't really leave that one out.

My personal favs are:

The Mask (1994)
Monty Python and The Holy Grail (1975)
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (1981)
Kung Fu Panda 1 (2008)
Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
Ace Venture: When Nature Calls (1995)
Man on the Moon (1999)
Yes Man (2008)
Meet Joe Black (1998)
Castaway (2000)
Inception (2010)

And a helluvalot more...

Despite what people say, the Sci-fi notion of Interstellar (2014) was great. The storyline in itself wasn't all that bad, but it wasn't the greatest either.

Anime/Japanese Movies Wise
Spoiler
Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone (2009)
Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (2011)
Evangelion 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo (2014)
Howl's Moving Castle (2005)
Spirited Away (2001)
And a helluvalot more...

Chinese Movies? I've mostly watched Jackie Chan movies, and couple off track ones...
Surprisingly different languages can give movies a very different feel.
Spoiler

Who Am I? (1998)
Aces Go Places (1982)

Unique Map Making~
