Mind over Matter will not work very well for this particular build because we are a hybrid (Energy Shield/life) build. Mind over Matter node makes it so when hit 30% of damage is taken from Mana before "Life," so as long as our energy shield is up, (which it almost always should be since it makes up almost half of our effective HP) the hits we take will still hit for the full damage onto our energy shield. The only time Mind over Matter would absorb damage is if our shield went down, then the Mana will absorb 30% of damage before it hits the life pool. Also, this build currently only has 240 Mana unreserved, which is nowhere near enough to absorb big hits.

It is possible to make a similar build to this one using Mind over Matter and Eldritch Battery keystones for defense, but this particular build chooses to run hybrid defense rather than MoM.

I chose not to get Zealot's Oath because I get plenty of energy shield recovery from Ghost Reaver/life leech, and it is nice to have some regen on life for when dealing with desecrated ground.

Since the leagues merged, I decided to run some super rippy content to send my bladefaller to standard (where all my cool experimenting gear is :D ) Here are a few videos of how my bladefaller handled rippy content :)

Thanks for reading the guide! I've been mostly working on my characters in Perandus league, but I'm going to try to take some time this week and work on updating this build to ascendancy once standard characters get their free ascendancy points. For now, you can view the tree I had last league if you go to https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/hannarashi/characters click on "Hanabladefalls" and then click, "passive skill tree." I will post an update again once I fill out her ascendancy tree as well.

I updated the build for Ascendancy! (For the most part)

All the trees should be loadable now, and I have included my choice of ascendancy nodes. I specced her ascendancy nodes in standard, and ran the character through some tier 11 maps, and was clearing just as efficiently as before :D. Her damage is slightly lower now, but she is much tankier with the Ascendancy changes. I switched out Arctic Armour with Herald of Ash to make up for these changes. If you like to feel extra tanky though, the damage is ok with Arctic Armour as well.

Yes it does! As I mentioned in the post, this character was originally my starting character in the HC Talisman league, and survivability was her main strongpoint, only having one close call before getting into maps to a Talisman boss who was nerfed 2 days later. Just prioritize getting survivability nodes on your tree first while you level and should work out for this HC league fine as well :)
