[2.6] Milky's Righteous Fire Totems [cheap, SC/HC, Shaper, UberAtziri]

I have some questions regarding EE:
You suggest we pick this skill. However, since we cant deal dmg we have to use traps and other stuff. As you only suggest Vaal Lightning Trap against bosses, doesn't that mean I lose 25% dmg on all other occasions? I play a second character as trapper and traps not triggering due to enemy aoe is a huge issue (without the passive). So simply using an ice nova trap to get the EE effect does not seem perfect.
Therefore I'm thinking about not picking EE. I kill the trash mobs faster and hope that vaal lightning triggers against harder bosses.
vaal lightning trap triggers the shocking ground AND EE, so we gain 50% more dmg + -50% fire resists.

EE works like this.

you deal lightning dmg, they gain +25% lightning resists and -50% fire/cold resist for 4 seconds. If i know that there will be a longer bossfight like atziri i still use the regular lightning trap.

Yeah, but the Non-Boss stuff dies 25% slower. That was my concern.
As well as the fact that traps fail in big boss fights, due to large aoe and not having the Clever Construction passive. And without shocking ground im stuck with 25% more resistance on the boss.
Also im not too fond of throwing traps every 4 s. Mainly for the reason that if i wanted to throw traps constantly i would rather play my trapper. But thats probably only my personal problem. On the other hand i have no problem with switching support gems, so i take concentrated effect whenever i think i need it. So maybe thats my personal preference instead of the EE passive.

edit:
I am playing this build as Marauder, so i took the "missing" life and armor node (in your build). After thinking about it, maybe it would have been better if i took the "meele damage and life" node and the two strength nodes after it.

Have you considered using Southbound gloves? The up to 16% life/50 cold resist on a pair of cheap AR/ES gloves is pretty damn sweet, and degen effects (which is all we do) apparently is not affected by the "cannot kill frozen enemies" stuff.

We don't care about the rest of the stats on it, clearly, but it seems like it is worth considering.
non boss stuff dies so fast its not even funny ;) For me traps work pretty reliable in bossfights if the trap hit their face, played some trapper before even lightning trap existed without clever construction, maybe i am. used to it ;)

If you dont like it dont use it.

Southbound is a good iption for the gloves, i will probably add it in the gear section.

My equip is rather crappy, thats the problem (i think). That is probably why my killspeed feels rather slow. I mean when the totems are up the damage is ok, but until my totems start to burn my other characters would already be done with the mob. Well at least its relaxing, the defense feels quite good and i dont have to run around like a maniac trying to not get hit so that i wont die instantly (like my trapper does). :)
hm the main difference to other characters is the playstyle.
i just place the totems and run to the next pack (if i dont have to hide on superscary maps)... if i think about it its compareable to caustic arrow with decoys ;)

Hey, is Doedre's hat needed for Atziri? I don't have it worked into my gear yet, and was wondering if I needed to go through the shuffle to max res and life with it in place of my current hat. (Level 83, Spell totem level is 19, have doryani's stick)

Its not really required and shes definetly doable without the helmet.

doedres scorn is just the best slot for dps (except the weapon). For me it's 100% ele dmg + 2 curse level.
