Unable tp progress act 2 and enter vall ruins/northernforest

On my Duelist Taldren I am unable to progress act to as it says I have finished root of the problems as soon as I got the baleful gem/Maligaros spike. I can't progress the quest any further now. I got the apex from the bandit lord when I sided with Oak. Now I have no quest to continue and it says I completed root of the problem when I never even started it.

Never mind, was able to get into the ruins it seems with out ever doing the quest. XD
