Random Question

Don't know if someone has asked this already but I just thought of it.

What would happen if a player won a beta key in a contest and used BUT he was supposed to get 1 from the timer.
Does he get another key, does the timer simply skip him or does it crash the timer :p

Just a random question I thought of after winning my key in a contest.

The timer doesn't give "keys", it just activates beta on the account. So if he already activated beta with a key then he wouldn't get anything from the timer. I'm guessing they have it skip him, but worst case nobody gets a key for that 5 minute interval :(

ah didn't know the timer actually activated beta thought it sent a key to your email thanks for that info :)

I want a beta key because this game looks like everything I thought Diablo 3 should be, but probably won't be. I'm really interested in the "league" system and I like the complexity of how the skill system works. I'm also interested in finding a good core group of people to play with.

As taekvideo said, the timer doesn't give keys. It just designates the account as a beta member. But, this has happened before where someone activated a friend invite and then showed up on the timer. This is possible because the timer selects a queue of accounts ahead of the one it's currently showing, so there is a small window of time where you could activate a key while in the invite queue. If it happens, the timer continues doing what it does and nothing happens to the account because it's already a beta member.
