Code of Conduct and Valued Posters

In the effort to streamline and improve the forum experience, we have revised our Code of Conduct. This change is in line with our move towards focusing on helping players, instead of trying to police them. Our overall goal is to make the Path of Exile forums the best resource for game information.

With this aim in mind, we have also added a VP (Valued Poster) program to acknowledge and highlight trusted members of the community who consistently help others.

To distinguish them from other players, they will have a different border and account name colour on the forums, as well as the “Valued Poster” forum title. Additionally they will gain access to a private area of the forum, where they can discuss issues with GGG staff. It has no effect in-game.

As they are recognised as credible sources of information, VPs have a responsibility to engage politely and constructively with the community.

We haven’t yet added anyone to this program, but we will be sending out PM invitations in the near future. Please email support@grindinggear.com if you would like to nominate someone to become a VP.
Hi there!

A number of posts in this thread have had to be removed for breaching the Code of Conduct.

"
Please do not:

Personally attack or cause harm to the reputation of others

Please be mindful that while disagreement and passionate debate is totally okay, it's best not to make comments that are aggressively hostile and aimed directly at another user.

We feel a warning should be provided in this instance, though repeat offenses by the same users may result in further action. Thanks!

Hi nait2k4!

I certainly agree it would have been nice to underline this change! Unfortunately, this thread was requested to be removed by the links original poster.

I hope this helps to clarify that no fault was on your behalf, or other posters involved. Hopefully a better example will surface in the future :)

Hi again nait2k4!

Thank you for bringing this up. There has been a degree of community concern regarding not being able to call out a player for scamming (or provide a warning to others), and we have been listening to this feedback.

This is currently under discussion, as we do not wish to condone or protect any player actively scamming others. However, we must also consider the potential this has in targeting innocent players unfairly.

We hope to have an update on this soon. Thanks!

Question to developers, or mods, or support, or whatever.

If you are a VP, and you are abusing others and such, can you get that VP title perminantly removed from you?
