[2.1 Ghazzy - Cyclone COMK Discharge Guide] Low/Mid Budget Build

BUILD IS UPDATED FOR THE AWAKENING

Note; This Build can be played as both Witch as well as a Templar!

About myself:
I'm a livestreamer who has played summoners exclusively for 1.5 years in this game, up until recently! I killed Uber recently as a classic summoner after seeing how my SRS build was just getting better and better by every patch. So, to challenge myself I decided to make uncommon and/or rather niche or mechanical builds instead! I hope this build will be to your liking, I certainly enjoyed myself a ton with this build.

The Build Guide:

Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLB-qg6EgPs

Is this build for you?
* You want to play a discharge build but feels that the classic CoC Discharge is either boring or too expensive
* You want to play something that has extremely fast clearing speed and is not in the current meta
* You're looking to play a Witch using a 2h Sword due to how damn sexy the animation looks
* The build you're searching for has a proper forum guide as well as a video guide
* Build that is suitable for both hardcore as well as softcore
* This build can be played as both Witch & Templar

Introduction:
This build will allow you to do an absurd ammount of damage despite it's rather low budget input!
With the use of Blood Magic keystone we are focusing a lot around Life & Armour for our defensiveness. The best thing about this build, is that besides the COMK & Flame Golem gems you have the possibility to do more or less what ever you want with the other sockets! Yes, it's that good!

__________________________________________________________________________

Skill-Gems & Setups:
Important note: This build is insane with a 5L COMK gem setup, and you will be perfectly fine with only using a 4L for the single target output. This means you only need to 5L 1 item, and the other chest or weapon does not even have to have 6 sockets! All to reduce the cost for the build to work for you!

The gems are dispalyed in order of effeciency

Cyclone COMK Discharge:
Cyclone + Cast On Melee Kill + Discharge + Increased AoE + Weapon Elemental Damage + FLEX*
*FLEX: You can chose to either run Faster Attacks or Fire Penetration for optimal damage output, I personally prefered the Fire Penetration.

Optimal Single Target:
Cyclone + Concentrated Effect + Weapon Elemental Damage + Faster Attacks + Fire Penetration + FLEX*
*FLEX: At this point I would equip Culling Strike, but our Sword already has Culling Strike so that is a complete waste leaving me to say that you can chose more or less what ever gem that would fit your playstyle the best here. My prefered choice would be Life Gain on Hit but support gems like added chaos would also help a ton when it comes to damage output. Another possibility is theuse of Fortify to get more damage mitigation.

Utility:
Flame Golem
This is the only mandatory utility gem you need for this build. Outside that you have the possibility of using movement spells such as: [Leap Slam + Faster Attacks + Fortify] or Cast When Damage Taken setup to get Elemental Weakness curse going for optimal damage output, example: [Cast When Damage Taken + Elemental Weakness + Molten Shell + Increased Duration] the possibility are almost endless.

Passive Skill-Tree:
For lvling I would refer to my LvLing Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qpbwKn-DPs

You can switch to this build effeciently at lvl 67 as thats the level requirement for the specific unqiue items required.

For a LvL 67 Switch I'd suggest this type of skilltree: https://goo.gl/Ii2igI
End-Game Skilltree: https://goo.gl/YU3V87

__________________________________________________________________________

Bandit Quest Rewards:

- Normal: Kill them All (+1 Skill Point)
- Cruel: Kill them all (+1 Skill Point)
- Merciless: Save Alira (+1 Maximum Power Charge)

Gearing and stat priorities:

Make sure that you reach resistance cap on all elemental resistances (75%)! After this you will focus on Life rolls & Weapon Elemental Damage! Make sure that the equipment you wear are all focusing on Armour, not hybrid stuffs, pure armour.

Example, the rare items I have been using are linked below;

How to generate the charges for Discharge via our mandatory uniques:

In this segment I'll go through which mandatory unique items you must have and how they work to generate the charges required to make Discharge work!

Let's start with the Frenzy Charges, we are using the 2h Sword: Oro's Sacrifice This sword does 100% Fire damage hence why we are using support gems such as Weapon Elemental Damage. It will ignite enemies on almost every hit you make so caping yourself in Frenzy charges goes almost instantly before you explode after a melee kill!

Secondly we are using the chest piece; Daresso's Defiance this chest piece provides us with OK life, good armour & Evasion, but it also makes us generate Endurance Charges on kill, this goes not only for our Cyclone kills, but also Discharge kills so you can use CWDT setups with Immortal Call if you wish. However, when you get hit you will lose your endurance charges and gain Onslaught buff for 1sec per Endurance charge. This is something you don't have to worry about at all with this build!

Thirdly we are using this builds most expensive item; Romira's Banquet This beautiful ring has 100% useless mods on it but 1! "Gain a Power Charge on non-Critical Strike" seeing as are using the keystone: Resolute Technique we will never have to worry about the mod saying that we will lose all our power charges when we crit, cause we will NEVER crit! This means that our attacks can NEVER miss and will ALWAYS generate a Power Charge when we hit something! This is insanely effective for our COMK setup, but also that when we are using our single target DPS we will cap ourself in both Frenzy & Power Charges to help the damage there!

The last item we need for this build can be the very last item you get for the build as it is not mandatory to make it work. However, it does help a TON to get the initial kills going to start the COMK menace! The item is: Crown of Eyes.

Another Unique you would like to add is to your jewel arsenal; Clear Mind This jewel gives us 40-60% Increased Spell Damage while no Mana is Reserved. Since we are using the Blood Magic Keystone, we are reserving 0% mana. Making that Jewel the best jewel you could possibly use for this build! Sadly it is limited to only 1 per skilltree, but still obviously worth it!

Jewels:

The last thing to throw in to your gear is jewels, they should focus on these stats in order of effeciency:

1. Life
2. Spell Damage
3. Any type of Elemental Damage
4. Area Damage

I hope this build guide will serve you well if you decide to play it!
Keep in mind that I ALWAYS promote people to see any build guide they read more as a rough guideline, it does not matter if the build is the fastest, best, safest or what ever preference people might use to brag about their build. The best build for you, is the build YOU enjoy playing the most. Path of Exile is a grinding ARPG game, make sure you enjoy your time in here!

I have played the build in the one month. At LvL 77.

I have made quite a few changes though:

1. No Crown of Eyes, I will use Hrimnor's Resolve instead, this free's up a jewel, gives more armor and 30 cold res. The jewel makes up for the 20% damage loss.

2. No romiras, it feels like a waste. The AoE clear of discharge with frenzy and endurance charges is enough, I really dont need it. This frees me up a ring, and allows for easier resist capping, so i take no ele resist nodes on the tree which saves 3 points. I take the fire damgage @ marauder start and leave the spelldamage @ templar start.

3. As Single Target I use Perma-Flickerstrike with Chance to Ignite, Wpn Ele Dmg, Multistrike, this nets me coolness but brings eye cancer. Damage is good though :D

4. I went to Duelist instead of Witch. nets me more life regen/armour but over all less damage. My cyclone AoE is a bit bigger but my Discharge AoE a bit smaller... Still I dont feel AoE is a problem, even without IncAoe gem, I use fortify in my cyclone instead.

As of now I am not sure what combination of AoE / Life / Lifereg / Armour is the best setup.

Even though I am probably tankier than your build setup, it feels squishy. Despite my investment in Life and Life Regen I die sometimes vs Nemesis / Beyond mobs or map bosses... My gear is bad though so I will get quite a bit stronger still...

I like that people are doing their versions of what ever build I give out, its good!

Squishiness is not something i felt more than vs single target and/or reflect mobs, hence why i'd recommend using life gain on hit on the single target layout! :) At least in my version. The power charges helps single target a TON.
