How much are my swords worth? And should I upgrade?

So here they are.

ATM at lvl 78, I'm doing 12000ish DPS and surviving/killing pretty well on rolled 71 maps. (4500life full res)

I quite like my swords.

Could someone tell me their DPS, so I can compare on POE. TRADE? (and let me know how to calculate DPS)

Are these swords good enough for end-game - 12000dps seems a little low.

How much would it cost to upgrade them?

1. Unless you are running some elemental build, ignore the flat lightning damage affixes.

2. look at the "physical damage" numbers.
3. Add the two numbers.
4. Divide by 2.
5. Multiply with attacks per second.

1st: (45+143)/2 * 1.77 = 166
2nd: (45+183)/2 * 1.5 = 171

They are worth... 1 alchemy orb... maybe?
I doubt you will find a buyer in standard league.

You can find upgrades for 1c+ (200 dps).
300 dps swords will cost a bit more, 1 ex maybe (not sure about standard pricing).

This is brillaint - thanks - Maybe I'll buy some better ones, as mine seem to be crap. i could prob afford 1/2 ex on swords.
Thx for calculating the dps - now I can compare and go shopping!

So I should look for blue phys dmg on potential swords or pure dps?

Depends on your build, which I don't know.

But most builds only use the "blue numbers" yes.

To calculate dps of weapons that haven't been qualitied to 20, do the following;
1) Look up base damage on poe wiki.
2) Add it up and divide by 2. Then we have average base damage.
3) Add the average flat physical (+x-x physical) to base damage. eg add it up and divide by 2
4) Multiply by 1+((increased phys%+20)/100)
5) multiply by attack speed

(nice way to calculate potential dps of drops you get without having to waste weaponsmith or do crafting from vagan)

Example;
Spoiler

So for a sword with 10-20 damage base and 1,5 attack speed, with 3-5 flat phys and 60% increased phys it would look like:
(10+20)/2 = 15
(3+5)/2 = 4
15 + 4 = 19
19 * (1+((60+20)/100)) = 34,2
34,2 * 1,5 = 51,3

I assume both your weapons are 6 mods, in which case you cant increase your dps in any way. Since we can't access your characters (why do people even turn this off...) we can't evaluate your build and tell you which you have specced into. I assume you're a phys build.

In any case this is a search parameter for 1h swords 230-250 pDPS (physical dps), online with a max buy-out of 5c on standard. Currently got me 5 persons selling swords in that bracket.

Really weird my character profile is off - I'll turn it on, as I'd love someone to see my DW build and esp my tree,
as I've had no comments on it.

I didn't even know it was off!

BTW ty for all the DPS calcs - very helpful.

My characters should be up now - how's my build and tree?

I'm sword specialising.

Using Armour Aura - halves my mana - any way to use a second aura? As I've taken no aura nodes, or mana reserved.
Whats the min Mana Reserved to be able to use two auras?

I'm using flame totem for backup and Chaos Golem - even tho he has lvl 20 Minion life and 18000hp, he dies all the time-very annoying.

I have 33% evasion rating - should I take Iron reflexes?

@TheScalpel - can I depend on POEtrade dps? Or do I need to work it out myself?

Just some minor points...

I'd rather go from the Duelist start via the Physical Attack Damage node and the two strength nodes instead of the five small attack speed nodes.

I don't know how good your mana sustain is, but you could afford a second 25% aura - either Herald of Ashes (for offense) or Arctic Armour (for defense). Maybe you would have to take the Mana Flows node (two passive points) for that but it might be worth it. It would also give you intelligence so you can unspec one +30 intelligence node - though in the end it would be better to forget about high intelligence altogether and just use lower-level Vaal Skeletons, Chaos Golem and Enfeeble because you wouldn't know much difference between lvl19 and lvl13 with these spells.

If you have a bit of currency, get some better Jewels. You can easily get a jewel with three relevant affixes (attack speed while dual wielding, melee damage, life, resistances etc) for 4-5 Chaos each on Standard.

Connect from Warrior's Blood to Juggernaut via the two strength nodes and not via the four elemental nodes, compensate by cheaply buying better equipment (especially helmet, belt and amulet) with higher resistances.

Deft Blade seems like a rather weak three points, mobs don't block anyway and the rest of the increases are rather small.

You can use the passive points saved to take Iron Reflexes which should give you a lot of armour. Use Grace instead of Determination if you do this and can support the dexterity requirement. If you want more offense and less defense you can swap out Determination for Hatred.

Molten Shell should definitely be in there somewhere, possibly linked to Cast When Damage Taken - or high level self-cast. I personally also link Chaos Golem with Cast When Damage Taken - it definitely dies fast and I prefer having it cast again every mob to doing it myself.

Finally, craft yourself at least one flask with the Bubbling or Seething prefix to instantly refill part of your life when you take a big hit. Also craft yourself a Staunching flask (stops bleeding) which will be life-saving against Puncture and Corrupted Blood mobs.

Good luck!

If you want to improve your DPS must take some crit chance nodes and switch to daggers, physical builds get a lot of dps from crits and you have no points spended in it.
Don't waste skill points in crit multiplier, just chance.
You are at 3 pionts from Melee crit chance node and 7 to reach DISEMBOWELING, this notable gives you 50% chance & 15% multi.

Crit chance without crit multi? Switching to a crit dagger build for a player who has very little currency? I smell a trap here...

@scrooge - Thx for the long and interesting reply - I've taken deft blade and not sure whether to go for more life
Atm 4610 with belly.
Also iron reflexes seems odd.
I have 8% more armour and 5% evasion. Where's before I had 33% evasion which was quite good.

Yea crit is out I guess unless you plan a build around it and go mega crit grabbing only some won't do much.

Question is mainly - do I keep IR and do I go for more life?

I have 4 points now
