i killed a boss that dropped 3 shav's and this happens before i can pick them up

Saw a bunch of people suddenly go off line then i got kicked to login screen. able to log but kicked back at character selection.

has this happened before? if so how long does it usually take until it gets fixed? i am asking if i should have another last smoke and wait a few more minutes to hopefully pick up the loot the boss dropped or if i should rather go to bed ....

I am just logging in and it boots me from character selection out to the login screen.
