Guild Wars 2 went "free to play" as of the other day

They say free, but it's one of those where stuff is gated.

So, if you paid for the game - what kind of bonus stuff do you get now that it has gone free to play? I've always wondered what the pay off is for some poor bastard who laid down $20 - $60 the week before the game dev decides "Lets make this 'free'!"

According to users of the various GW2 forums, opening the game free to the public has killed the economy and sparked hostility within the community.
Sadly, probably not worth playing it now. (Sarcasm, Sorry about the lack of tact in delivery, folks. It is ABSOLUTELY worth checking out.) |

Had bought it when it came out, but couldn't really get into it. I think it was just too WoW-like, and I had already played WoW and didn't look for the same experience (still play WoW, on and off). Not a bad game, just didn't pull me in.

I was gonna buy the game soon anyways so I downloaded it to give it a try and see if it's like any other mmo that I tried and quit after a few hours.
Currently level 13 or something. It's getting a bit repetitive, but I'll play a bit further by myself and then party up with a friend tommorow.
