Does static strike's discharges can crit ?

According to poe wiki, static strike's discharges are considered to be "attack" with your weapon's dmg used as a base but does it mean they also have critical strike chance equal to your weapon ? Or maybe it also crits when your initial hit crits ? Or is it zero ?

Even if the discharge itself gets higher with higher dmg output from initial hit it's still important from the mechanic standpoint (like for CoC potential).

For one, that's not what happens. As always with two-component Attacks, the explosion is entirely separate from the melee strike.

Except for the Crit roll, as per usual. It has the same Crit Chance as the Melee strike, and because Crit is always rolled per Skill activation, if the Melee strike Crits, so does the explosion.
If crit chance fro discharges differed from your weapon, it would list its own crit chance on the gem, like infernal blow and explosive arrow do.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

SS Discharge Crit chance is the same crit chance as the SS melee hit itself... which is the same crit chance listed on the "offensive" stat sheet for static strike.

The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.

Welcome to PoE.
Thank you all for the answers. Looks like using it for higher attack rate for melee CoC characters might not be a bad idea.
