How farming works in other games: You designate an area as a field, you buy seeds from an NPC, you click the seeds, then you click on the field, then you click the water and once again on the field, you click on the rake and again on the friggin field, you wait for a loading bar to fill up, then you click the field another time, you sell your harvest to an NPC, rinse and repeat. Fun... fun...
How farming would work in PoE: In every 10.000th map spawns Bobby the Farming Master, he gives you a quest to find a unique rake, you kill a bazillion monsters to find a white rake, you level Vagan to lvl 8 so he can craft rakes for 1 mirror per craft with a 1 in 1000 chance to turn it into a unique. Then you do another 10.000 maps to find Bobby again. Once you found him you show him the rake and he will ask you to find super special uncorrupted earth to plant your seeds in. You level Zana to level 8 in order for her to make a map that shows you the locations of uncorrupted earth (costs 1 mirror per map with a 1:1000 chance to actually contain uncorrupted earth). You do 10.000 maps to spawn Bobby again. He asks you to find Rhoa feces to dung your field. You level Tora to lvl 8, she shows you how to identify Rhoa stool, you hunt Rhoas for ages until you have shit in your inventory. 10.000 maps later Bobby appears again, you invite him to your hideout, he sells you a field of uncorrupted earth and orb-seeds with the chance to harvest 1-100 of a random orb in the game. Price: 1 mirror each. You place the field, plant the seeds, kill twenty million monsters because the field gains a 100th of your experience and needs 10 trillion xp to grow. You also need to fetch uncorrupted water, rake the field frequently and so on... If you are lucky you can obtain a harvest before PoE servers are shut down in 2022. Your harvest: 6 Transmutation Orbs. Well, at least better than Emperor´s Luck... So, please no. regards Hold on to yer shite load o´ bloody barnacles on me arse-cockles, me hearty!
