Element Conversion + "Double Dipping"

Theres a notable passive in the Witch/Shadow area called "Snowforged"
It gives increased damage to both fire and cold damage.

Thus would an Ice Skill + Cold to Fire double dip from said node?

My guess is yes, based on how Iron Reflexes interacts with Evade+Armour passives (or at least thats how I remember it working).
Yes, when you Convert Cold damage to Fire damage, Snowforged applies "twice": the modifiers are on two separate lines, and are thus two entirely separate modifiers.

This is quite unlike Armour&Evasion nodes, which are only a single modifier and thus only apply once even with Iron Reflexes allocated.
It will not double dip, it will be applied once for each element like this :

100 cold

50% converted to fire =

50 cold * (cold bonus -> 25%) = 62.5 Cold

50 fire * (cold + fire bonus -> 25% + 25%) = 75 Fire

As you can see, if the fire comes from converted damage, the modifier from the converted damage + the fire damage are applied at the same time additively. If you have only cold damage, then only the 25% cold is applied, if you have only fire damage that is not coming from cold, then only the 25% fire is applied.

On the other hand, fire damage double dips with burn damage because it will first increase the base fire damage and then it will increase the burn damage that is based on the base damage.

That node does double dip if you do a conversion.

In your example, you do
63.5+75 = 138.5 total damage.

If you dont do the conversion:
100 cold *1.25 = 125 total damage
Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

The definition of double dipping is a single multiplier bonus that is applied multiple times because of the game mechanics giving an exponential result, making it very efficient for its cost.

Fire bonus to fire damage and burn damage is the best exemple.

This nodes doesn't double dip in any way, its applied once for each damage type. Of course you will do less damage if you do not convert,because fire damage will not give a bonus to cold damage, its common sens... But this is nowhere from double dipping.

If we where talking of double dipping with converted damage it would look like this (but the games doesn't work like this) :

100 cold damage, 50% converted to fire, 25% bonus to cold & 25% bonus to fire

100 cold -> 25% bonus = 125 cold

50% converted : 62.5 fire

62.5 Fire -> 25% Fire bonus = 78.125

Giving a total of 62.5 Cold and 78.125 Fire

Lets say its double additive with converted part of damage.
