[2.0] Tank that shit!

I've been experimenting with an allout tank build that can AFK most content.

Layers of Defense
CWDT - enfeeble: 24% damage reduction
Fortify: 20% damage reduction
Lightning Coil: 40%*75% = 30% physical damage reduction
64% block, 48% spell block
25k armor (Grace+Determination)
5k life, 1k ES
Aegis Aurora's "no you don't kill me" afk mechanic
3 Endurance Charges (can be 7 if desired)
CWDT - Immortal Call + Molten Shell for extra tank
Riposte + LGoH for even more tank

I'm only missing Arctic Armor, then I would have all the tank mechanics in the world. ;)

I use Static Strike as main attack, since the tooltip DpS of such a build will be horrible (currently 10k with a Doryani's Catalyst^^). Static Strike at least adds another 60% via its explosion (so the true DpS is around 16k) and has built-in AoE.

Tree
Spoiler
Level 88
Grabbed all block between templar, marauder, duelist and ranger.
Added a bunch of life, armor and shield defenses, some resists and a bit of damage.
Has access to more jewels and 3 Endurance charges, if desired.

Gear
Spoiler

Required Items:

(need int from gear, so it's perfectly fine not to have a well-corrupted lazhwar)

Lightning Coil, because it's freaking tanky
Aegis, because it's freaking tanky
Lazhwar and Rainbowstrides for the spellblock

Other useful Uniques:

Doryani's Catalyst is just a pretty good weapon for its price, and adds some more elemental DpS
Doryani's Belt has armor and resists, which is pretty nice. This build should be fine with Molten Strike or Ice Crash, but obviously Doryani needs to be in the fire/cold version then.
The belt can be traded for a good/better rare, of course, like:

(Life+ES are better than elemental leech, and armor/resists can be found on rares as well)

With such tank builds, it also really helps to have a mirror tier onehander, since the skilltree doesn't help at all in terms of clearspeed. Consider Doryani's as an entrance card into this build, you shouldn't try with an inferior weapon.

Gloves, Helmet, Rings
Life, Resists, possibly some damage, and one Int-affix is required for blue gems and ES gear.
Examples:

Gems
Spoiler

6L
Static Strike
+ Melee damage
+ WED
+ faster attacks / multistrike
+ Blood Magic
+ Fortify
(Swap fortify for another damage gem like added fire when it gets too easy)

3L
Leap Slam
+BM
+faster attacks

3L
Enduring Cry
+BM
+inc. AoE
(put on middle mouse, so you don't forget to use it)

4L
Grace, Determination, Riposte, LGoH
(Swap Grace for Hatred when it gets too easy)

4L
High level CWDT + inc Duration + IC + Molten Shell

4L
Low level CWDT + Enfeeble + Chaos golem (or whatever, still experimenting)

Bandits
Spoiler
Oak, Oak/Kraytin, Oak/skillpoint

I bet you still get one shotted by the village ruin bosses...
Yes, there's probably stuff that kills me outright.

Thanks for your very helpful contribution.

Why Aegis Aurora instead of Lioneye's Remorse?

Thanks for the guide btw, I was looking for something like this
Ive run pretty much this build with same gear setup since 2.0 except I use different gem setups.

Instead of molten shell and IC I use riposte and vengence linked with LGOH and endurance charge on melee stun.

Dual curse SoL with reckoning linked with enfeeble and warlord mark and curse on hit. Makes you even more AFK.

Finally tempest shield - chain - lgoh to finish the over the top on hit heal.

LGoH works with TS?
Hi,

I was wondering if this build is beginner friendly and also viable for HC?

Thanks in advance,
Karl

stupid me of course lgoh doesnt work with spells. you can add leech in there though - mana or life - depends what you lack.

I thought there was a wonderful change of mechanics for a moment :D. But yeah, while even a 20/20 TS offers paltry life leech, with chain now included and on a high block build, the leech back wouldn't be insignificant when swarm by mobs.

Last time I checked, Lioneyes was just like a well rolled rare.
Aegis has this opie ES regen.
