Question tempest mode

Example: I am flame totem build.... got rarity tempest in map ... do i have to place my totem in the tempest so they get buff or just me and i can spawn totem after?

You need to get it yourself, as long as you got the buff you will get the rarity bonus.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
