This game is screaming at me to play a mace character

I've ended up hitting level 80 while grinding low level maps and dried lake for the past couple weeks so I can progress through the mines and finally murder Malachai.

Unfortunately, while I've received perhaps one or two slight improvements on my current ranger's gear - the game seems absolutely insistent that I play a mace marauder:




Seriously game, what the hell.
This one really took the cake. It dropped as a 1 socket red. It got to 5 socket in about 20 jewelers.
It got to a 5 link in less than 10 fusings.

Best luck I've ever, ever had I think.
