The new mapping system worked.

If we look at Etup as a prime example, i think it is fair to assume the changes to the mapping system work.

Now why would i come to this conclusion when most people seem to assume the opposite based on the performance he made.

1) he was forced to run more difficult maps at average
2) the expenditure of currency was higher then it was previously
3) the total combined time was a lot longer then before

Point 3) might need further clarification to honestly gauge the relevant impact.

Due to the maps being harder to attain and Etup being feeded maps by his "community pool" i am going to assume it required an increasing amount of currency and time for both him and the community supporting his efforts.

So instead of just looking at his "personal invested total time", one needs to accurately add the total time spend by the community sustaining his effort(reaching level 100 as fast as possible) to get a clear sense of the time required to reach lvl 100.

It would be helpful if his community could weigh in if my assumptions are accurate, but based on personal mapping experience and that of mates playing the game, i think my assumption that it required a
"combined increased effort" compared to the earlier mapping system is accurate.

So in short, GGG's intentions seemed to have payed off.

Map's are on average more deadly and harder to run as well as to sustain.

No more pack size magic mob lvl 78 and higher maps for the community, a success i think for the core experience of the game.

To be clear, it would be faulty to assume because he made it in a similar time then in previous league's that the system has failed. Since he is pooling "time spend" of other players towards his goal.

Sry for being rude but i'm lurking this forums from day 1.

All I will say is "And because of this shitty stupid vision of the game being hardcore-niche-etc it's why it doesn't have at least 5 times more players"

Seriously, wtf is wrong with the people today ? One thing is to seek a challenge, other is too look foward to an outrageous grind just because of it.

If they game this game less niche oriented and implemented a decent zoom level so you actually don't have to play watching you character head, this game would be MUCH more succesful.
Working as intended or not, it's nonsensical backwards bullcrap and progressing past 85 and/or breaking past lvl 74 maps should not be so difficult.
Sounds about right.. As a sample size, lets just take the best player in the league, see how map changes applied to him, and then assume its right for the masses. Well done.
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
Add to that the fact that he had to bring in bob, who is specialised to finish any of the harder bosses. Thats the only reason he could do that hard maps.

So yeah, it wont be applicable to very many other players.

implying PoE is aimed at the masses or should?

Well done.

This post has nothing to do with "the masses" it's an observation that GGG attained there targeted goal when it comes to maps. Personal feelings on the situation are irrelevant to that.

To be perfectly honest, the "end game" walls we have right now in PoE, especially in leagues are arbitrary, borderline corean mmo style with a huge p2w factor for some players(GGG not responsible for RMT in strict sense, but the mechanics of the game, well...). It is due to a lack of content mainly, that is shadowed by huge grind things.

Map sucks now. The grind in itself, especially in league is less boring, you basically look for tempests or warbands so it influence what you farms and the reward is here. (in warband, well a 4stars map yeld AT LEAST 4-5 more alts per run, often jeweleries for c recipe)

To me, the way map system and end game has been handled by GGG remains outrageous. Gameplay mechanics wise, well even it is slighty more rich, with more things to build or keep, or some cds(via potions) it is still borderline crap imho.

GGG really needs to start thinking about their end game policies. Atm the walls we have, are purely arbitrary walls. The xp wall is nonsensesque and the grinding wall, well tbh I do not understand why some ppl get a 6L in 2 fuse and some 0 in 2K fuses(mb put some rng balance on fusing process, the more you fuse the more it is likely to 6L for example). PoE needs refining in lots of its aspects. The tags players put on this game to justify the unjustifiable is morbid sometimes. And don't tell me you do not need 6L, to perform well in lvl81+ maps, like not taking 20minutes to end a rolled one, yes you need a 6L lol.

Agree the new system worked exactly how it was supposed to be and is perfectly fine

yeah that is true, and at the same time it's a good thing there. The harder palette of bosses should not be easy to beat. It should be something that feel like an achievement, something that cannot be done by everyone so easily.

So the fact that not everyone will be able to do theses challenges (because they are challenges) is a very good thing for the game in general. Playing a game that has challenges that I have not beated yet is alway a good turn on for more action and work. Once you've dealt with every challenge in the game it's pretty much it and the end :(

Because balancing map drops according to the guy that has "infinitive" resources is a success.

Players should not care about GGG concerns, players should express their own wishes and be selfish. It helps GGG in the long run.
