Infinite "Checking Resources"

Hi all, i'm new to the game, downloaded the installer today (twice) the instal goes without problems, then i launch the game and its stucked to Checking Resources...i cant do anything...and i've quitted after like 3 hours...nothing changed...any help?

This is my System:

Win7 x64
Asus Rampage 3 Extreme
i7 950 4ghz(oc)
Evga Geforce gtx 480 850mhz(oc)
12Gb Ram Corsair Dominator 1600 mhz

There are several other threads on this issue, which should be easily searchable, not sure if there are any suggestions in those which might be useful. I get the impression that it is an ongoing problem though.
