Jewels based Scion?

I am currently considering making a Jewel based Scion build due to abudance of such nodes in areas.
Any toughts about making it. I was considering going towards marauder cluster perhaps using a life based , cyclone build. Master of arena + jewel giving range would provide significant AOE boost as the weapon reach would hit 10 with a 2h axe.
