Why do i deal lesser dmg with LMP?

Hello cummunity,

i don't get why i'm dealing less dmg with my Lesser Multiple Projectiles gem(Level 17).
At this level it's supposed to do 30% less dmg and 32% more dmg, which i think should be a dmg increase of 2%.
But when i equip the support gem my dmg reduces from ~3.4k to ~2.3k, what's the deal with that?

Anyone got an answer to this?

Also read through the thread maybe there's an answer. Didn't find one at a quick glance.

The gem reduces your damage by a total of 30%.

The 30% increased damage is MULTIPLIED against the already reduced 30%, not added as 30% more damage to negate the affect.


So. Say you are doing 20 damage.
30% less makes it 14 damage.
The 30% increased damage multiplies against that.
14+14*(.3)
Making it 18 I believe? Something like that.


Edit: Well its probably multiplied, THEN reduced by 30%. Im not sure myself, but I do know the +30% is not +30% MORE damage to negate the affect.
