Acceptable ES pool for CI?

I have been planning some builds for the awakening launch and one was not really possible on life unless i dropped 90% of my other nodes to get more life. so i decided to go CI for it. i had some of the items needed nothing great just decent you could say. but with my math i feel the pool is really low only about 5.3k es. I have only played CI once and it was several years ago, if i remember correctly i ran 4k es and it was acceptable since it was a dual spork. and my gear pretty much sucked 100es shield and 200 es chest for an example. But what is an acceptable ES pool for CI these days? Need to know if i should keep fine tune the build until launch or just accept failure.

For me to feel good with CI, i need around 200% inc es from tree and acceptable gear bringing me to at least 6.5k, better 7k es. Especially with all the dmg increases in beta. At the very endgame i would aim for 8k.
