That's because game genres have certain target audience.
LoLs audience mainly is 10-20 while other games are avarges of 20+.

You would be surprised about the age average of some simulation games like those "Traffic Jam" simulators where 30+ sit in a Traffic jam and chat over mumble/ts/skype about life.
No shit in Germany the highest avg age of players are simulation games.

While I get the charm of some of those there are so many pointless simulation games that make me wonder why would I play it?
Like those mentioned Traffic jam sims. Traffic jams on highways in summer are a pain in the ass why would I play something like that if I don't have a masochistic nature.
