[3.1] BERSERKER/JUGGERNAUT 288k DPS Ice Crash/EQ Crit Staff AKA "The Shattering Karui"

What you describe is a completely viable option, and the entire point of Ascendancy is that, for most builds, there are multiple options, none of which can be said to be "best", since the difference is in playstyle.

The leech path you describe would probably be safer and offer more survivability, but going Berserker the way I went offers most DPS. With Aspect of Carnage + Rite of Ruin you effectively gain 40% MORE damage (which is huge) for only 4% increased damage taken, plus an effective Unwavering Stance. The other nodes give you also 36% inc phys dmg and 12% inc attack speed, plus a very nice AS/MS buff from crave the slaughter. If you want to be a big, mean, killing machine, this is the way to go.

Again, going for leech is also completely ok; it's just a completely different playstyle, a different idea of a goal for your build. It is up to you as a player to decide what you prefer most.

Thanks for your guide I played ice crash in talisman and loved it and am thinking of playing earthquake (seems to be very similar skill) for Ascendancy. Just wanted to say thanks =) Current plan is to go zerker just like you suggest.

Im confused. Are you linking both of those to give us a choice of using ice crash or earthquake? SO a 6L setup with Ice and a 6L setup with earthquake?

I don't see earthquake in your gem list that's where I got confused.

That is correct, they are slightly different setups, as you can see, that's why I wrote each separately.

how does this build survive in end game maps? meaning what are its defenses?

High armour + arctic armour + high life + one-shotting/freezing everything before it can touch you :)
