Seems rather insignificant when held against the totality of time.

Just bring a towel and find yourself a singularity.

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
The obvious answer to the computer-driven economy problem is this: Government will legislate against it, requiring human worker quotas. Barring that, we may see Works Projects Administration sorts of things, or even a move to a minimum guaranteed income model, which the politicians will love, since it will provide them a lock on voters and maximize central government control. ='[.]'=

If you have Netflix, just watch Dollhouse, episodes 1 and 13 of Season 1 (you might want to give 2-12 a watch if you like Ep1). That is how Armageddon will come.

Kind of zombies, kind of not.

At the end of the day, economy always wins. The country that enforces human worker quotas will be far behind the country that doesn't and thus pulls ahead in terms of economic efficiency. I also believe we will get to a point where super-advanced technology will be available to pretty much everyone and nobody will have to rely on the government for survival. Imagine everyone having nanobots that are able to produce food out of thin air or some crazy stuff like that.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Technology isn't like proper magic. It's more like... alchemy, a la Fullmetal Alchemist. There is always some roughly equivalent exchange.

Therefore: nope.

Yawn. Wake me up when I can make a perfect clone of David Beckham as my sex slave.

For years i searched for deep truths. A thousand revelations. At the very edge...the ability to think itself dissolves away.Thinking in human language is the problem. Any separation from 'the whole truth' is incomplete. My incomplete concepts may add to your 'whole truth', accept it or think about it
