I've been gone for quite a long time...a couple of questions, please.

First of all, in the past I purchased MANY (went CRAZY overboard) inventory tabs and hoarded gear like mad...My question...has there ever been anything implemented in the game where I could easily auction the items away, or do I have to still manually trade them away to people?

And second of all, congrats to GGG for getting POE on Steam. As an old supporter of the game, is it possible for me to get a Steam code and migrate all of my 'stuff' from POE, including my items, characters, and all my other stuff to my Steam account? And are there any disadvantages of doing this? Will POE run slower under Steam?

I'm really interested in getting back into playing POE again, it was so cool and dark, and had amazing combat and the skill tree was also one of my favorite things. Are there any expansions I will have to pay for? I spent quite a lot of money in the past on POE and was concerned about that, or am I grandfathered in for any additional pay-to-play (or unlock) content?

Welcome back!

There are some third-party trading tools out there: "Procurement" and "Acquisition" for example, that are in widespread use; they make trading a lot easier. I'll see if I can find the links. Please check your current gear carefully before trading anything; you may have what are called "legacy" items that have since been nerfed; the old versions of these items are quite valuable. Also, the "increased item quantity" skill gem is no longer in the game; if you have any, they're worth a tidy sum.

PoE is still free to play; the current "closed beta" is for The Awakening - Act 4 expansion. If you want to purchase a Supporter Pack, you'll get a beta key in there; they're also doing random giveaways (hence the timer at the top of the page). Just wait for the release of The Awakening if you don't want to pay to beta test, and it will also be free to play.

You can migrate to steam... it's easy. Download the steam client from there and log in. Presto.

Everything is still free.

It's still not possible to have full respec of the tree, right ? That's the reason I gave up POE in a first place, the grind to level is too long and when I did hit a wall with my spec, I didn't want to start all over.

You will have a free full respec on every major patch(expansion).
Last free respec was at patch 1.3.0 and next will be in 2.0.0 (In about 1 month)

so i need to recipe to get what i had before the respec? your logic is awful .
btw if u can gave me all theses reg orbs im ready , from the fact you can't get these all orb naturally ( i dont like system trade here even if i use for some gems )

Well, the game is about creating new characters and starting from zero. Think about it as replayability, you learn from your mistakes and your next characters gets even better. (Like in "roguelikes", a genre "Hack and Slay" derived from.)

And this is especially true if you are still in the steep learning curve. There's no point in fixing a broken character when it takes you just a few hours to hit 60 again.

Maybe start a character in the temporary hardcore league to get used to "rerolling".
Have a look at the Flashback League, there is currently nothing as intense as this league on weekends. :)

to tell you the truth (excuse my basic english ) , i play this since 2011 and have some thousand hours ,
i have a job now , a family , and no more time to theorycraft . since the 1.2 i just follow some nice builds to play . and it will be the same in 2.0 , i will just wait an nice cheap build created by others .
no more testing , theorycrafting , experiments etc.. for me . i can play max 1h/day
