it's sad when...

you are the first in the rotation of a dom packsize lvl 78 map group & you get DC'd & you don't have the ign's of the other players & you don't get invited back

sidebar: why can't we see previous people we've messaged in game, even after we've logged out/been DC'd? So many times this situation has arose where i've wanted to trade or been in a game and cannot reconnect with my group

Check the client log?
It takes pretty long to load, but includes all whispers to other players and I would guess also party invites etc from other players.

Did that quite often when I had some connection problems and was trading^^

yep, client.log is in your poe install folder and contains all the ingame events and conversations.
