Playing poe = Computer restart

Well have to say its a friend problem.

He plays the steam version
He can play the first 5 minutes normally
He can stay longer afk at Town
He have an i7 with high and new hardware
Its the only game that do this
He plays rust (Very unstable game in alpha version) without any problems
High power supply
No sound blaster card (tried --softwareaudio)
Temps arent highers then 50º

HAPPENS SINCE LAST UPDATE!

Hope we can get help and solve this problem, he is new at poe and really love it!

Thanks!
Computer restart means blue screen of death (BSOD) or just poof, no error message and just off?
If it is a BSOD, ask him to provide the information showed there or simply google the error code.
For the just poof off, as if someone took the power cable out, it is probably caused by the PSU not strong enough (if all the temperatures are fine).

It's definitely a bad driver or hardware failure. With the 5 minutes of working before the problem, it seems like overheating. Since he can AFK in town for a bit longer, it seems to be local to the video card.

Have the friend update the video driver, and make sure the temperature really is what you think it is. Definitely try setting the GPU fans to always on max, to see if that alleviates the problem.
Does he have any dump logs generated in his minidump folder?

Usually - c:\windows\minidumps\

If so, a dump analysis can be performed on the dump log, and we can help track this down for you...

Same problem, it's definitely not a problem with high temps or anything because I checked that thoroughly when it started happening.

It also started very recently (past 3 or 4 days) and the amount of time I get to actually play is seemingly random, could happen the moment I load my character or it could happen after 10 minutes to an hour of playing.

It definitely isn't a BSOD because no dumps of any sort are being made.

I set MSI afterburner to log things and this is the last few lines of the logs for the past 2 crashes:

No other game causes a problem like this, not even running benchmarking software for extended periods of time.

It must be something they recently changed in the game.

Just restart like if you press the restart button on your pc. Is game problem, fix it asap GGG """"team"""".
It is not a problem with the game, otherwise everyone would experience it.

It's PSU or/and overheating because Path of Exile pushes PC to the max it doesn't have any limits. And Rust isn't demanding game.

Or try to update GPU drivers and check game data files.

Not necessarily. It could be a way in which the game interacts with certain hardware causing hard shut downs in some cases, and blue screens in others.

Unfortunately, we know too little about what is going on in this case to say for sure.

It was my PSU, I replaced it and I've been playing for hours without a problem now.
