Passive Skill Tree ¿Old or New?

So, I just made a Marauder, and was wondering what kind of weapon to choose. While searching for some Dual Wielding skills, I was telling myself "Where the hell are you, Dual skills?", then I realized how far away they are from the Marauder path. I've been playing since the 0.9.3 patch arrived, so I don't know much of the old Skill Tree, but I assume that one was a lot more versatile and free than this one because every character started at the same point, having the same possibilities. ¿Wasn't that the purpose? ¿To make unique characters? ¿What if I want a Bow wielding Marauder? I don't think that's something easy or even possible to achieve on the new Passive Skill Tree.

I wanted to share this to know if I am the only one thinking this way, wanted to make a poll but I think it's only for admins on this forum. :(

Hope you guys understand this, because my english sucks.

Making each class more distinct was an important part of the 0.9.3 passive tree. It's intended to be very difficult to get one class to work like another. If it wasn't difficult to do, there wouldn't be much reason to have different classes.

Your English is quite good :)

I really like the way the new tree works. The thing about the old tree was that You could go any path you wanted from the center, but having a witch go down a typical marauder path simply meant you would have less stat points, so there's not really any motivation to do so...Might as well play a marauder.

The thing that makes the 0.9.3 tree so great is that starting from different positions makes each class take different paths to get where they want to go, but you are not penalized for taking an odd path. Any given passive point gives the same stat or skill regardless of who takes it. To me this just opens up everything. I feel more free plan out, and execute experimental builds without being punished for it...basically, "what you see is what you get" sums it up.

The I think it was just me. I have to say I liked that you could take any path, so you could play a Marauder with a Bow, and try to make the best out of it with the paths. That way, in my opinion, feels a lot more freely than with the new one, but well, I think I'll have to get used to this one.

Thanks for the answers guys!

Oh, also, is there any Passive Skill Tree out there so I can plan ahead my skills? I found one, but it's for the old skill path.

I'm pretty sure you can play a marauder with a bow, you just have to find a path to it. The center of the skill tree is nice, because you can path to there, and then outward in whatever direction you want to, picking up a lot of stat passives on the way.
