How Divination Cards Work

To understand Divination Cards, first lets have an imagination exercise.

Imagine you want a Shavs. Imagine shavs are very rare and thus tons on RNG. Now Imagine if you could give out 1/12th of a Shavs, and players could trade cards that can be turned in for a shavs. This allows the devs to make progress towards a shavs feel more obtainable.

I'm not saying this is exactly how they work, but if you get this imagination excersize, then you get the drift of how they work and what they do.

What if instead the cards allow you to "tune" your RNG? Not toward a specific item, but toward a class of item, or a type of mod on the item.

Let's say you are allowed to hold three cards at a time.

So you might have one card that boosts the odds of finding melee damage, one that boosts the chance of faster attacks, and one that boosts the chance of critical strikes.

Using each of the cards would come with a cost. Faster attacks might slow your characters movement or speed, and increased crit find subject the character to more frequent and powerful crits from monsters.

The Harvest might be culling strike, giving an overall boost to rarity and quantity, but in turn cause monsters to kill the character any time the character gets to 10% or less of life.

So the cards are basically exalted orbs? x)
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I bet the divination cards will become even more overpriced than the unique items themselves.
obviously you get a unique item by defeating the monster indicated on the card. By playing the card, it gets removed and spawns the monster.

You can also play monster cards in town. Imagine the fun that's happening in Lioneye's watch at the moment, in the beta.

I think you will have to craft diviniation cards the way you roll strong boxes.

And each card will say that you have to kill X amount of Y enemy in order to obtain whatever item you previously rolled.

So let's say you get a tier 1 divination card which is capable of rolling top tier items.

You spent 30 chaos orbs before you get a

Prefix "Andvarius Ring 0/33"
Suffix "50 Devourers"
Suffix "Melee Attacks"

this would mean that you get yoru andvarius ring after your kill 50 devourers x 33 with melee attacks.
